Your card is one thing to pay attention to at work today. It is not a forecast of what will happen to you. Read it in three steps:
- Name the work situation it lands on. Read the short meaning, then ask which meeting, task or person on today’s calendar it fits. If nothing fits, it usually points at how you are working, not what you are working on.
- Turn it into a question. The Seven of Cups is not “you will be confused today”. It asks which of your options is real and which is only attractive.
- Pick one action you can take before you log off. Send the email, have the five-minute conversation, or close the tab you keep reopening. A card you do nothing with is just a picture.
The draw runs in your browser and uses the name you type plus today’s date. The name is not sent or stored anywhere. The same name on the same day always gives the same card, so refreshing the page won’t change it.
What each suit points at in your workday
You drew | It usually points at | A question to carry today |
A Major Arcana card (The Fool to The World) | A bigger theme than today’s to-do list: direction, role, a change you have been postponing | What would I do here if this were my company? |
Wands | Drive, ambition, new projects, competition | Where is my energy going, and is it going where I am paid to put it? |
Cups | People at work: your team, your manager, how you feel about the job | Whose reaction am I quietly working around? |
Swords | Decisions, conflict, communication, worry | What conversation am I avoiding, and what would it cost to have it today? |
Pentacles | Money, skills, steady effort, long-term security | What small thing, done daily, would show up in my next appraisal? |
When the card looks bad
The Tower, the Ten of Swords, the Five of Pentacles and the Nine of Swords are all in this deck.
Any of the 78 cards can come up on any day. None of them is a warning that you will be fired, betrayed or lose money today.
- The Tower asks what at work is already unstable that you have been treating as fixed. It might be a project with no sponsor, or a role that changed on paper six months ago.
- The Ten of Swords points at something that is over and that you are still carrying. A rejected proposal, a promotion that went to someone else.
- The Five of Pentacles is about feeling outside the room: underpaid, unseen or unsupported. The question is who you have not yet asked for help.
- The Nine of Swords is the 3 a.m. version of a work problem. Write the worry down, then write the one fact you actually know about it.
[LAVANYA-INSERT: In sessions, how do clients usually react when a “hard” card comes up for a career question, and what do you tell them? One or two sentences, an aggregate pattern, not one client.]
What a daily career card cannot decide
A single daily card cannot tell you whether to take a job offer, whether you will clear an interview, whether layoffs are coming, or what your manager thinks of you. It has no access to any of that, and nor does any other card.
- For a real decision (stay or switch, this offer or that one), use the free 3-card tarot reading. Three positions give you room to look at the situation, what you are not weighing, and a next step.
- For a quick gut-check, the yes or no tarot reading is built for one plain question. Treat its answer as a prompt, not permission.
- For money, contracts, notice periods or anything legal, talk to a qualified person: a financial adviser, an HR professional, a lawyer. A reading is not a substitute for any of them.
Why one card a day works better than five
A daily career card works because it is small. One card is something you can hold in your head between meetings. A five-card spread every morning turns into a habit of checking instead of a habit of acting.
[LAVANYA-INSERT: Your practice-based view on how often to draw for career questions, and what you see when clients draw too often. Aggregate pattern only.]
If you want one card for something other than work, the one card tarot reading takes any question. The daily love tarot reading does the same for relationships.

What a session adds
This tool is automated and free. It picks a card and shows a fixed meaning. In a session, I ask what is actually happening at work: the offer, the manager, the money, the thing you haven’t said to anyone. Then we read the cards against that, and you leave with a decision you can act on. See session lengths and prices.
FAQ’s
Is this career tarot reading really free?
Yes. There’s no sign-up, and no email is needed. You type a name, and the card is picked in your browser. The name isn’t sent or saved. It’s an automated reading with fixed meanings, not a live reader.
Can a career tarot card tell me if I will get the job?
No. A card has no access to the interview panel, the other candidates or the budget. It can help you look at how you are approaching the job: what you are underselling and what you are anxious about. For a yes-or-no gut-check, use the yes or no tarot reading, and treat the answer as a prompt.
Why do I get the same card when I refresh?
One name on one day always gives the same card. That stops you from drawing until you like the answer. Come back tomorrow for a new card.
I drew The Tower (or the Ten of Swords). Should I be worried about my job?
No. Every card in the deck can come up, and none of them predicts a firing, a layoff or a loss. Hard cards point at something already uncomfortable at work that is worth looking at today. If you have a real concern about your job or money, talk to your manager, HR or a financial adviser.
Should I quit my job based on a tarot reading?
Not on a reading alone. A daily card can help you notice what you keep avoiding. A decision like quitting needs your finances, your notice period and your next option on the table. The 3-card tarot reading is better suited to weighing a choice, and a session lets you talk it through with a reader.
How is this different from a career reading with Lavanya?
This tool picks one card and shows a meaning written in advance for everyone. In a session, Lavanya asks about your actual situation and reads several cards against it. You leave with a next step that fits your work, not a general one. [LAVANYA-INSERT: one line on what a career session covers, only if accurate.
