Should you check the trading name or the registered name?
Check the name your customers say out loud.
The trading name on your signboard, your logo and your Instagram handle is the one doing the work in the world.
The legal entity on your GST paperwork rarely is.
So run “Chai Point” before “Chai Point Beverages Private Limited”.
Drop the Pvt Ltd, LLP or Inc suffix. If customers shorten your name in conversation, score the short version too, because that is the name that actually travels.
If the trading name and the registered name are the same, you have nothing extra to do.
If they differ, the trading name wins.
What if the name suits the business but not the founder?

What do you do when the name can’t be changed?

How is a business name number calculated?
Each letter is given a numeric value, the values are added, and the total is reduced to a single digit — unless it lands on a master number. Chaldean assigns values by sound vibration, so the mapping is not alphabetical: F is 8 in Chaldean, 6 in Pythagorean.
Should I use Chaldean or Pythagorean for a business name?
Chaldean is the older system and assigns values by the sound of each letter rather than its position in the alphabet. Lavanya uses Chaldean for name work. Pythagorean is simpler and more common online. The calculator runs both so you can compare.
Do I include Pvt Ltd, LLP or the legal suffix?
